Hello Everyone im new here and have a few questions. I'm coming up on 12 months left in the Marines and am looking to get into fed law enforcement. I will be graduating in May with a degree in criminal Justice and homeland security and have 8 1/2 years in the military. When do you guys recommend applying to announcements and starting the process. How long do the process usually last for 0083/0085/0080 things of that nature any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Go to the military threads and read them. Contact Bearcat for The Truth.
Now go home and get your shine box!

Honestly, don't get out of the military. That would be my advice.

I would say start applying for state/local LE after you leave. Their hiring processes are usually much shorter (6 months or less), and they offer decent pay and benefits. Also you will be doing some proactive police work.
