DON Police Officer, Mechanicsburg, PA

Anyone have any insight into the Police Officer position at this location? The basics, and any insight you may have? I am aware of all the discussions regarding the 0083 positions. I was wondering if there is any SPECIFIC data: i.e shifts, Officer morale, training, leadership, equipment, or living areas.. Understanding OPSEC please PM or brief answers will be great.

They patrol and do gates. They are GS-05's so you're making more than some of the lower paid departments in the area. I think they're on 8 hr tours, same as NSA Philadelphia which is apart of them.

Living in the area, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill are not bad. Carlisle is a dump. Some live on the eastern shore towards Lebanon. Derry is probably the best in the area (home to Hershey park, PSU medical center).

To where? Cant get a waiver of FLETC UPTP for PA Act 120 without 2 years of experience. Maryland which is close by doesn't waive FLETC UPTP.
