So we will see what happens, I took the online assessment and felt pretty good about it though. Best of luck to all others who applied!
Congrats on the referral, and best of luck to you as well! Be ready for a long ride, the typical 1811 hiring process is measured in years.

Sad thing is a lot of it comes down to whether or not the specific HR rep thinks your experience counts. A coworker of mine, 1811, GS-13, applied back in the fall using experience and got squashed by HR. Obviously not saying everyone else will, but his resume seemed pretty tight, and hell he had just got done working a joint case with IRS. He literally was having to explain himself on the phone to the HR rep, whose response was…meh sorry. Good luck everyone.
You are so right, if you don’t have the 15 hours of accounting you will not qualify for IRS SA. The announcement said that you can have experience or the 15 hours, but they are very funny when it comes to qualifying experience. They will go over your credentials with a fine tooth comb and argue you up and down that you don’t qualify. In the past just about all of their announcements said that you have to have the 15 hours.

Well every 1811 that I know who got on through a competitive announcement applied to several different agencies; or the same agency several different times. It has always been beyond competitive from what I have been told! Most of the newer agents with IRS got in through the IRS’s old internship program. That is why it took years for people that applied in an open announcement to start. The good news is that the waiting list is just about clear, so people from this announcement will start soon.

Thanks for the replies! Here's hoping Russian makes them interested...(since I have no Accounting knowledge whatsoever). I applied to a few others a month or two ago, about four special agent openings, import specialist, and immigration services officer and didn't hear diddly from any of them. That's the way it is I guess!

Have you tried the FBI? They have a linguist program, but the only issue is they rarely post for new agents. The last one was a few years ago. Anyways, good luck. Do you have Veteran preference?

No vet preference for me, also FBI requires 2 years of professional experience anyway, correct? I don't have that since I am just out of college.

If you can pass the language tests, they will waive the experience requirement.

Yes, that is correct. If the language is of critical needs, there are alway's waivers. Besides, you would more than likely be mentored while you gain that experience.

Still waiting here. I would imagine that it shouldn't take too long to score (should be automatic). I guess the only real judgment on their part is determining a cut-off score. From there it's just the logistics of sending out the notifications. I hope we back hear soon.

You're right, the scoring should be automatic. I'll post it once I'm notified of the result.
