I didn't get referred for this position, but I did get referred for an investigative position with the Army in DC and an investigative position with the Air Force Inspector Generals Office at McConnell AFB in Kansas. I received a phone call from the base Inspector General here at McConnell and we talked for about a half hour. Both are GS-12 positions. I have no issue taking either if offered.

I will be honest with you, I'm not 100% sure if I applied to that position or not. I have applied for a lot of 1801 type positions too and the 2 I listed above I have gotten referrals for. I need to go back through my USAJOBS account and see. I didn't mean to make things more confusing for you, but my brain is like scrambled eggs right now with all the NCIS and AFOSI stuff I have done.

Somebody on the NCIS March 2014 vacancy forum posted that it was because the hiring manager requested another certification list; so they are going through again and referring/denying people all over.

As for volume for any given announcement- this can be difficult to predict and while historical trends help, so much goes into how many folks apply and to which positions, and when. While you have habitual applicants, there are some who will only apply at certain times and to certain offices. Then you need to look at folks who may have been picked up during a recent round of hiring actions- you can safely deduct about half of those from the potential pool.Originally posted by SSDIt has long been the tradition on this forum and as well as professionally not to second guess or Monday morning QB the officer's who were actually on-scene and had to make the decision. That being said, I don't think that your discussion will go very far on this board.Originally posted by Iowa #1603And now you are arguing about not arguing..................
