  • I am about to interview for an officer position. So I was hoping this group could give me any pointers. Also what questions would you ask if you were in my shoes I know each office is different so I wanted to know the most important stuff to ask about.

      Ask about their policies on telework, comp time, and flex time for starters. You will want to know the answer to those questions.

            Not sure what you mean bud. Wouldn't you prefer to have comp time and telework as opposed to not having those benefits?

            • I meant specifically flextime haha I should have been more specific. Its been a long few days and yes of course I want those haha. Im just not sure what you meant by flextime. Oh and do y'all have agency vehicles or do you use your own, same for firearms. I ask because I know state Parole officers have to use their own vehicles and provide their own firearm even the agencies that offer a pistol they have a personal approved carry list.

                • I had an interview for USPO at the beginning of the month and they told me at the end of it that they were looking to have a second round of interviews about 2-3 weeks later. That was 3 weeks ago. I called their HR specialist today and she said they already had done "some" second interviews but no selection was made and it's possible they may have more. Is this something that's common or was she just being polite and I should accept that I didn't get the job?

                          • I've been looking into USPO and noticed that the Eastern District of Louisiana always seems to be hiring. Does anyone have information specific to this district?

                              High turnover for a reason. I know POs in that district. There's a reason they always hiring. I'll leave it at that
