  • Affirmative Action and Register Rankings

Can anyone share insight on the role of affirmative action in register rankings for federal LEO applicants? For instance, if a specific job has a dearth of a specific gender/racial/ethnic minority group in its ranks, will applicants from that group automatically rank higher on the register to increase their chances of being called up?

I know that all federal LEO positions give Veteran's Preference, and some also give language proficiency preference. But for federal LEO positions, is there also affirmative action preference, or is it just VP?

Only BIA gives preference to a specific group over others (Native American). Other than that no.
