Since 220 yd dash is the first test, give all you got. I came in at 42 seconds. I was not running at full speed. The 1.5 mile is pretty easy, just keep up with the rest of the group and it will give you the stamina to finish it.

If you're struggling with the PFT2 requirements, then pt at FLETC is going to be a nightmare for you. The PFT2 is a cake walk. The pt instructors are beasts, almost like energizer bunnies. Just a heads up. Trust me, you don't want to be the sandbagger in your class.

Thanks for the heads up Allistar, I anticipate and welcome a vigorous PT program as I would not expect any less at the academy. I made serious changes in my life as far as working out is concern since Sept 2010.
I expect to be one of the older guys at the academy and I think that it will be fun keeping up with the younters....

ummm... guys, don't expect to get in shape at the academy. Depending on the instructor you might do very little PT. GET IN SHAPE NOW. You seriously don't want to be the person that everyone hates because the instructor won't work one person harder than the rest. Everyone pays for one person not doing good. You should be able to do 24 push-ups in a minute and 1.5 mile in under 15 minutes.
