  • OSI has been interviewing folks right now that applied to the previous VA. The journey man level is GS-13 and almost all open positions are coded for GS-13. So, when you fill that position you will work your way to 13. When I started we only went to GS-12, but this all changed when we changed from NSPS to GS.

Good luck with OSI. There are some great people in this agency and I've enjoyed my time. The one thing I caution you is be prepared to deploy. Iraq is gone, but Afghanistan is still active. Besides, there will always be a war. If there is an air base there you can guarantee OSI will be present. Just food for thought.

So it looks AFOSI had their PAQ recruitment already. I'm so disappointed recruitment and applying are only done through on-campus events. Worst of all, I live in Florida. I don't live anywhere near TX, MD, and VA.

It just seems so unfair. I was so excited to be able to participate with the OSI PAQ application process.

I've already applied for the AF PAQ Intel Specialist, and also the Security Specialist, but OSI was my #1.
From my experience the Air Force allows OSI significant latitude to do things their own way. For example as far as I know 71S Special Investigations is the only career field in the Air Force which has their own selection board after the officer selection board selects someone as an officer.

I submitted my PAQ app about 2 weeks ago. You're just submitting 3/5? From my understanding, the cut off was Midnite March 4. Then again, you may have submitted by then and our time zones are different.... Good Luck
