I am not affiliated with ICE or know that much but I did some research about this position awhile ago when I was thinking about applying.

You mainly assist Deportation Officers, Immigrations Enforcement Agents etc with clerical and deportation work.

I was looking at the "status announcements" It seems to me if you do a year or so as a D.R.A. you could apply and most likely get hired as a deportation officer down the road.

      Good stepping stone.

DRAs do not have the required training to qualify for them to put in for status D.O. or IEA positions.

Detention and Removal Assistant = Secretary. No FLETC training. DRAs do not have the training or experience requirements to qualify for DO. May qualify for IEA if apply for IEA entry level announcements and attend FLETC.

Are you an officer with the BOP? If so, you're covered bro...dont give that up for a non-covered position as a DRA.
