  • President to Sign Stopgap Federal Spending Bill

    whatever this may mean.......

WASHINGTON -- Congress cleared a stopgap funding bill Tuesday to keep the federal government open into March.

The bill was passed by the House in the evening just hours after speeding through the Senate. President Obama will sign it tomorrow within a "24-hr grace period," a White House official told Fox News.

The measure would freeze agency budgets at current levels and implements Obama's recent proposal to freeze the salaries of federal civilian workers for two years.

The House cleared the bill for Obama on a 193-165 vote after a 79-16 vote in the Senate.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Because there is no federal budget in place (we are operating under continuing resolutions), Congress and the President will approve money so that agencies wont go broke but it freeze's budgets at what they were for FY'10 and same with the salaries.
    I don't answer recruitment messages....

Actually isn't that what the GOP was wanting to do anyway. It seems to me to make a lot of sense to simply pass a "continuing resolution" until the end of the fiscal year. This one is going to take us half way through the fiscal year anyway.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

For the intelectually challenged: If the government screws the people enough, it is the right and responsibility of the people to revolt and form a new government.
