As I stated In my last post, I passed my interview, and in the confirmation email, I was told I’d receive a tentative offer when a match is made within a region with a vacancy location… My question is, are they basing this off the 3 preferences the recruiter ask for?… Because, in the questionnaire it asked for preferences and I stated open, and the interviewer asked, and I mentioned the 3 I gave the recruiter, but, also stated I was open. Can anyone answer that question, or should I reach out to the HR person that emailed me with my passing of the interview?

Not sure how they do it. But it took around 6 months after passing the interview to receive the TO. Knowing the whole time that the region I was interested in had many vacancies and needed personnel badly. So not sure why it took so long..

I don’t know if I have a direct point of contact. However, there was a specific name on the email that I received for my interview results. I’m not sure if that’s the HR rep that’s assigned on my application. I think I’ll wait a couple more weeks and then reach out to that specific person to see if that’s the case.

kanafe. I think MOST people on here solicit information about their process from HR. Because there’s absolutely no way they are just letting everyone know where they are in the process or updates. I’m literally in the same position as you and others - not hearing anything. I’ve only been contacted about my location and if I wanted to change it and that they are waiting on the next class from FLETC. I have no clue if my background was completed or not. But assuming because they said they are waiting to place me in a class, I must have completed it. I’m coming close to the 2 year mark so that’s frustrating as it just makes me lose interest the longer it drags out.

Etoolqual I hear that. I've been kicked back to medical for even more clearance items after already addressing the initial ones they asked for. They are making this a bigger undertaking than it really should be as they cleared me for big items, but now asking about little things that don't really impact the position. I'm just curious if there is a medical waiver to get past this stuff as I know there are people working for FPS in worse physical shape/disabled than I am.

Etoolqual at least I am not alone, but at least they gave you something lol. I havent even been told I am waiting for an academy spot. Kind of made me nervous when I saw everyone else being notified that they were moved to the wait list.

I think wanting out of my dumpster fire of an agency more and more every day is making me even more impatient.

For me I asked the adjudication unit if my background was clear and when they said it was I asked HR if I'm clear from everything. They then called and said I was and waiting for a fletc date

Typically you need either an expeditionary medal, VA disability, or some sort of active duty service if I understand veterans preference correctly.

For the record, that's exactly how I made in-roads with FPS, and that simply by submitting my cover letter, resume packet, and DD-214 (s) for starters. I also have some previous experience and knowledge working on an FPS contract as a level three guard and was able to obtain the person to contact to get the vall rolling. Be persistent as FPS will have you hearing crickets.

I am working on 1 more piece to add to my packet. Hopefully, it gets my foot in the door. I will be in FLETC this fall, hopefully I can make a few contacts as well.

Yeah on the bright side I think they started the process before me. I got my TO March 7th and was told I cleared everything end of April, but same. Need to just try and forget about it

I received notice that I passed my interview on 4/24, and was advised I’d receive a TO when a match is made within a region… I still don’t know what region they’re referring to… So, I haven’t heard anything since. I’m wondering if I should reply to that email to inquire, but, I’m not sure if that email would reach anyone.

So I called my HR Rep 3 weeks ago and she pretty much stated that after the July Academy there is no future academy dates on the books for the remainder of 2023. And FLETC has yet to give them any dates for 2024. She says that might change and possibly a fall academy popping up, but as of now July is looking to be the last class for this year....

Federal fiscal year starts in October. I want to say last year it was similar and as it got closer to the new fiscal year new academy dates started showing up.

I was told this past Wednesday that I was seat 16 in line for FLETC and that if not bumped up into the July academy, I will be going around an October time frame.

They're at least making moves. HR called me asking if I still want the location offered in my TO. I confirmed and they asked if I had been to FLETC. I hadn't and then she said "okay, you're slot 16" assuming for seats at FLETC. Fingers crossed I get a FO soon.
