  • Looks like im in the same boat as a few of you guys. Got my TJO for Region 9 last week. I applied back in June last year. I have a secret clearance with DOD as well so hopefully everything goes smooth.

Edit: Havent received anything in regards to medical or backgrounds as of today but that should be coming soon.

      Congrats on the offer.

  • Curious about those that received their EOD date. Was your EOD date substantially sooner than your FLETC date, or did you EOD around the time you went to FLETC?

I would like to know the same, especially for ones that already have UPTP.

My EOD for FPS is in September at FLETC. I didn’t get too much info yet probably because of how soon it is, but the only thing I know is my report date is a couple days before the UPTP starts. So the EOD and FLETC start date are pretty much concurrent. It doesn’t seem it’s like CBP where you EOD at a port or station and can work there for weeks before an academy.

      Thanks Calbraz, good to know.

  • Finally cleared medical this week, that was a pain in the butt. Completed the drug test today, any input on whats to follow? I received my TJO back in October 2021 for region 9.

If your experience is anything like mine, you’ll randomly get an email with your start date. It was about 6 weeks between my drug test and EOD email. I passed the background after my drug test but no one told me. The personnel specialist told me I should have checked in if I didn’t hear anything after a few weeks. So I suggest emailing or called after 2 to 3 weeks from now. Maybe I’ll see you in September!

  • I got the call earlier for my medical exam. Came a week after CJO. Region 9 as well.

Edit: Anybody mind sharing their timeline from beginning to EOD?

Region 11 for the win! I just did my medical today. I know I still have some waiting time before I get my FLETC dates but I was selected for region 11 as well.

this how i got in contact with them.
don't expect an immediate response. It took about 3 to 4 days if that to get a response from someone.

When I went you had your own room with a shared bathroom. I’m not sure if all the dorms are the same.

      • Hey all. Had a few questions and was hoping someone could direct me to the proper places or provide the information directly. I was sent the following email on April 25th:

Thank you for interviewing for the position of Law Enforcement Specialist. You have successfully completed the interview phase. A tentative job offer will be extended once a match is made within a Region with a vacant location.
No further action is required of you. You will be contacted directly by Human Resources if addition information is required.
FPS is committed to aligning each qualified applicant to the right position at the right time. Thank you for your patience during this process.

My questions are these, how long did it take from interview to TJO on average? Do you have any say in preferred regions? Is there anything covering PFT for this position? Was medical rough for VA rated vets?

I appreciate any and all replies and information. Thank you.

I requested region 7, but have been trying to get in touch with them to see if I could possibly request another option.

Interview to TJO for me was 5 months. I chose Region 9 but I do remember sending an email letting them know that I was willing to except a position anywhere there was an opening. I also told them that during my interview. Not sure if it mattered though as I got what I originally put in for.

Also, as far as a PFT, FPS does the FLETC PEB.

As for medical I'm not sure how difficult it is for VA-rated vets as I don't have a VA-rating but I do remember from the medical packet that you would have to provide extra information from the VA in regards to ANY medical conditions or disability.

      • Completed my medical exam today. Thought I'd share my timeline so far:

        (Region 9)

        Applied: 6/14/21
        Referred: 6/14/21
        Written Test: 9/24/21
        Interview: 11/18/21
        Interview Results: 1/13/22
        Notice of Referral: 2/15/22
        2nd Notice of Referral: 2/18/22
        Conditional Job Offer: 4/21/22
Medical (Phone call from contractor): 4/29/22
        Medical Appointment: 5/9/22

Haven't heard anything in regards to backgrounds or EOD/FLETC date. Keeping my fingers crossed though as I'm nearing the end of the hiring process. Good luck to everyone!

Appreciate the timeline. I wonder if there is something different being done now in the most recent batch of applicants. My time table isn't as advanced as yours yet though:

          Applied 12/21/21
          Referred 02/18/22
          Interviewed 04/11/22
          Interview Results 04/25/22
          TJO pending location TBD

Waiting now while working on PFT. I've emailed the staffing email provided to request any available location, but at the same time I welcome the time to work on PT. It's needed coming from a sedentary position the last 5 years.

I only know from a few friends who are already working for FPS, and here in Southern California (region 9 i think) they have 2 schedules. 0600-1400, and 1000-1800. This may be different in other places.

      • Just curious

Has anyone heard anything in regards to clearing medical that has taken it recently?

I took mine at the beginning of May and haven't heard a peep.

The only communication that I have received after completing my medical has been that my background has been submitted for adjucation.

Hopefully this means I cleared medical.

If you have an active clearance and current federal employee, does that help speed things up?

      • It’s been crickets since I passed my interview on 2/7/22.
I did put in for Region 7 since I live in San Antonio, Texas.

Seems like the average on receiving a TJO is 3-5 months after interview

I have also put in for region 7, but i also stated during the interview that i would be willing to take a position if one became available in another region. I passed the interview on April 11, 2022 and have only got the “passed interview and as soon as a position becomes available in the region you selected a TJO will be extended to me”. So it does seem to be a bit of a waiting game, but i know several people that are in the same process and we are all moving forward, slowly, but we are moving.

I received an email after reaching out to them that stated the window for my timeline is looking at about another 2-3 months (tentative) to hear from the Personnel Office. This is still very open of a window, but at least a heads up. That's following the passing of the interview process at the end of April, 2022. Still moving forward though!

      • Yeah, I figured much so. I’ll continue to wait for an email.
