K9 jobs up, also i know guys without degrees and that were never cops or Federal service before. Just prior military that got picked up no problem. you never know unless you try

That was on last annoucement.... This one is pretty specific on what they (your agency) are looking for.....

I got to final stage for GS-9 job and they stopped hiring due to budget.... Not sure what they did last time around but I would suspect not much would change from talking to people.......

From reading the annoucement they are wanting folks with experience in both....I cut and pasted straight from the annoucement when I posted ........

I've done Survey's on Level 4 (Cabinet Level) buildings and don't think I could am qualified (if I was looking too apply) based on the K9 requirement..... as all I've ever done is "caught" a dog on a sleeve but never worked with one specifically.....

I really don't know what they are looking for by making the annoucement that way.....

Apply and see what happens.... never know....

Strange annoucement....but it is what it is..... Apply and find out what happens when they rate you app. You will get a email a few weeks after the annoucement closes saying if you rate or not....

i'm in the same boat. i'm a LEO right now, but in my old job i did assessments for over 14yrs. the only thing i do not have is K9 under my belt. i'll drop an app and see what happens.

they send you to a 3 month K9 school regardless if you have experience and have worked k9 for 15 years or not. hope that helps

our last guy that got k9 no experience, i have no experience and i am going to apply. the other k9 guy is not in the agency and he beat out guys that are already here. he has to go to FLETC and everything. He got picked up, stop selling yourselfs short and apply, or dont makes my chances better

Same exact thing happened to me with them for National Capitol Region in 02.

quick questions: how often will FPS move you around? and it's my understanding the puerto rico falls in the NY field office for them?
