Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

BTW, the SC Police Officers retirement is 2.14% per year, vested in 5 years, retirement payable at 25 years of service or age 55.

Out of State officers with less than a 3 year brake in service, only have to attend the 2 week legal’s training at the SCCJA that your hiring agency will send you too, it is one of the easiest lateral process of any state I know…

Also while the pay for the State University Police are not as high as that of some of the larger metro police agencies in SC, they do have a number of perks, (besides the coeds), free or reduced tuition for officers and some reduced for family members, most have free college gyms, free or reduced meals at the restaurants on campus, extra time off/leave during holidays, and a positive/friendly work environment.
