  • Job Fair, How to Dress?

I am going to a job fair tomorrow at my college. I am only a Freshman and am not looking into a current job or anything. However, I will be asking the Secret Service about a volunteer position I had applied for. Do you think it would be fine to wear like khaki shorts and a polo or would you still wear a tie and stuff? Thanks

Always dress for success. Always. You cannot be overdressed for Job interviews unless they specifically say "casual."
If you have a connection and are inquiring about even a volunteer app - dress up! If you don't have a suit, wear a tie.

Risking soundling like a major smart @$$...dress like you want a job!

What former said is spot on! Dress for success and you will probably succeed. I know suits suck, but its a few hours that could potentially determine the rest of your life. Just my .02

Dress slightly above the level you want your pay to be.
Due to the Juvenile bickering and annoying trolling committed by members of this forum I have started an igore list. If your name is listed below I can't see you.

I think you might want to wear a suit dealing with the Secret Service.

Wear a suit and tie. Remember you cannot take back a first impression. If you dress professionally you will be treated professionally.

Dress like you're going to a job interview...that means a suit.

Dress business formal. Get a suit if you don't have one.

Borrow it from a friend or roommate if needed.
