Very often it can be a thankless job and you can't desire accolades, because those are not usually forthcoming. Just do your job to the best of your ability and live with the decisions you've made.Comment

This happens all the time. We had a guy move from WA to NC and the day before he got there was called and told the position no longer existed. Luckily he had an email with the job offer and acceptance and was hired. Like everything else with the government, if there is no paperwork it did not happen.Comment
