I've read [in other forums] guys being in the process for 2+ years. A friend of mine has been it for 13 months and all he has done is the exam and interview

i applied oct of 08...tested in march 09, interviewed may 09, and im still waiting for the next step.

It takes quite a while. I interviewed about a year to the day after applying. Recieved the Fedex package saying I passed the interview about 10 months later. Although after that the process sped of significantly, everything being done in 2 months. Now I am waiting for "the call". With every new announcement people believe this will be the announcement where everything speeds up and applicants will be hired within 6-12 months. I though that was the case when I applied, but it has yet to happen. Stick with it though, I have yet to see someone that stuck it out say that it wasn't well worth the wait. Good luck.

I was hoping that the process had sped up a bit. My husband is an ATF agent and he spent almost 5 years going through the process (he got held up by the hiring freeze). I know once he got his interview, everything sped up dramatically. He applied before I ever knew him, but I think he interviewed in fall 2007 (could have been earlier) and got the call in March 2008 (FLETC May 2008). I can't remember when he interviewed but it didn't seem long before we were getting a letter to do something each month (medical, drug test, poly, etc.). I have decided to finally throw my application in the mix and was hoping to hear that the process had sped up.

anyone else send their application UPS? the guy at the store said that the computer could not find the address given. He overrid it and I am hoping this wont be a problem. I tried typing the address into google maps but it cant find the address given either

FEDEX didn't have a problem with the address. GoogleMaps has the zip as 20002 though. 99 New York Ave, NE is definitely BATFE-HQ. The different zip (20226) may be due to the extra screening involved for federal mail. I wouldn't sweat it. As long as the street address is correct, you should be good.
