  • Job Search Stress...

Hi there, I am a first time poster/ long time lurker. I am currently extremely stressed out by the job search. Here is the situation:
I live in a county with three LE angencies (city, sheriff, university). I am currently employed at the Universtiy Department of Public Safety in their student security force (we do escorts, building security, write tickets, etc.) I have applied at all three agencies in my county, and the only one that is looking good is the University Police. Here is the catch- they prefer to hire already certified officers. I think that this is a good time to mention that I am still in college, with 64 hours towards a Criminal Justice degree. I am tired of school, and want to get a "real job" and finsh school part time at a later date. I guess my question is how did you guys deal with the stress of accually getting a job. I have been around LE my whole life, I work with officers, I want to be one so bad it hurts some time. I guess this sounds like mindless ranting, but a few encouraging words would be greatly appreciated.

*opens my stack of 35 rejection letters* Also know as FU letters.

Keep trying darlin. don't let it get you down. I have been there and I know what you are goping through. Just keep applying. Statistically you will get an interview one out of seven jobs that you apply. so apply to a few places you wouldnt normally.

    Good Luck!!
Oh... Oh... I know you di-int!
