Does the background investigator make the final say if you pass or does someone else?

In the COE, the background investigation is the second to last phase, with the last phase being the "final hiring decision." So I think it is someone else.

Well, that is good. At least the invites are still arriving. I am still waiting, maybe Northeast takes the longest.

Schwook I’m just starting, they sent me some paperwork to fill out and bring to the panel interview. And they said if I’m successful I’ll be doing the poly the following day

For those of you who completed the medical did you have to provide your immunization record?

I just passed the interview part and waiting on the polygraph schedule. I was wondering if you already have a DOD clearence do they still run their own background. Also wondering how much longer the process is from here.

Your clearance does not matter, they will do their own to hire. Also, poly next day really just depends.

My poly took two months to schedule. Others 24 hrs. Just stay vigilant for emails and calls.

Got my COE on 4/30/2018. Still waiting on my interview/poly. I'm from the SW region and a HR specialist told me that they're not setting up any interviews/polys till they get more polygraph support in the SW region.

A guy above on this board seemed to get through the whole process in 2 months! I’m in the process with a few other agencies that are taking forever. Hoping NCIS is a little faster(from readin this board it seems to be).

Hey y'all! I sent in my resume and transcripts for the two most recent direct hire announcements. What's a typical time frame that one gets a response in?

Direct Hire may be a little quicker than the general announcements. My experience is only getting to the poly stage in 6 months. Others have been significantly quicker.
