That same number but I can't get a live body. Just a "leave a message and we will call you back". I haven't left a message, however.

    • Ok. Yea I held and got a live person after 15 minutes. So for whoever said they are out the process but got the selected status, is this who told you your were still out.

      • I called the HR specialist who gave me my tentative offer in April. DM me if you need their number.

              • Oh man. I just talked to an agent I met on an airplane and he said whatever you do, do not come to NCIS. He said it's the worst agency to work for. He said about 40% of the agents are leaving or have left. He said he doesn't understand why they are rejecting applicants when they need more agents so badly right now. He said if you think it's bad when you are its tens times worse at NCIS. Oh man. FWIW

                • Meh. I asked my polygrapher why he was still with NCIS after 26 years and he said that he feels like he's "never worked a day in his life."

I love my current job and know other people that have left because they hated it. To each his own.

Although I hope this scares a bunch of you off. Haha. Less competition.

                  • Any worse than DHS??? HAHA thats a good one.

It is what you make of it, im sure there are pros & cons with NCIS but that is with every agency

                    • He has been in other agencies. He was particularly talking about people who left my agency for his and then regretted it almost immediately. I have met a lot of agents from all over, and he's the first one where the first thing out of his mouth was completely negative comments. Even I would offer the positives first before the negatives. He crushed my dreams

He did, however, say that those in forensics, cyber, and CT have it much better because they can pretty much choose where they want to be

I think you pretty much said it. He was the first... Pretty much everyone I have spoken with seems to enjoy their job with NCIS. Maybe you spoke to an agent that had a bad experience. No matter what, you will have at least one of these where ever you go.

                        • What I meant was, he was the first agent from ANY agency who had bad things to say. Almost always, They usually find some redeeming qualities. I just found It rather striking how unhappy and discouraging he was.

Anyway, I'm still going to make an effort, and now I have a contact who can forward my resume to the hiring officials, since I can't seem to get past the Navy folks.

                          • If he's so unhappy he should jump ship. Seems odd that he would stay in a job he hates, when 1811 transferring is pretty common (per his own words of NCIS agents that have fled)

                            • Anyone have any insight into future announcements?
I have a one year apply hold that expires in October.
Since then I became a FLEO and working on a Masters.

                              • Ok.. Would you all say that with regard to any April/May applicants who only received a referral letter but no COE or anything else for that matter that the crickets are cherping and there is really no hope for any other for movement in this process? I've been holding out hope but am starting to think that I am in a bit of denial. Thoughts?
