    VILLAGE OF HINSDALE

    The Village of Hinsdale Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
    announces open competitive examinations for the position of Police Officer.

    APPLICATIONS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED STARTING APRIL 14, 2003,

    ORIENTATION (MANDATORY ATTENDANCE)
    WHEN: SATURDAY, MAY 24, 2003
    REGISTRATION: 7:00 to 8:00 A.M.
    Orientation Program begins 8:00 A.M.
    Physical agility test administered following orientation session.
    Written test administered to candidates who have successfully passed physical agility test.

    Applicants must meet a variety of qualifications, as specified in the Rules and Regulations of the Board and State Statutes, including but not limited to the following: shall be between the ages of 20 and 35 years of age at the time of application (unless statutorily exempted by 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6), and have successfully obtained from an accredited junior college, college or university, either an associate’s degree in the fields of law enforcement or criminal justice, or a bachelors degree in any field or successfully completed the Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training Course as provided in the Illinois Police Training Act, 50 ILCS 705/1 and are currently serving as a law enforcement officer on a full-time or part-time basis in the State of Illinois. Applicants must be a citizen of the U.S. or have applied for citizenship. Additionally, applicants must also possess a valid driver’s license, be in good physical health, and be of good moral character. Vision requirements include a minimum of 20/25 in best eye and 20/40 in other eye (glasses or contacts may be used to meet standards) and must be able to distinguish between colors (red, blue, green and yellow).

    COMPENSATION: Step pay plan
    Entrance: $44,471.00/year
    Step 7 (after 7+ years) $62,807.00/year
