DEPUTY SHERIFF Rock County Sheriff's Department is now accepting applications to establish an eligibility list to fill future vacancies. Duties include general patrol, traffic law enforcement, criminal investigations, court services and with further experience and training special assignments are available. Starting salary of $16.84 per hour. Shift differential of one (1)% for second shift and two (2)% for third shift. Work 5 days on, 2 days off; 5 days on, 3 days off rotating schedule. Benefits include 10 vacation days after the first year of employment, 96 hours accumulative paid sick leave per year, group health, dental and life insurance, Wisconsin Retirement System, $450 yearly uniform allowance and $150 yearly cleaning allowance. These positions require a two year Associate Degree or minimum of 60 college credits preferably in Criminal Justice, Police Science or related field, visual acuity correctable to 20/20 with glasses or contacts, a valid drivers license with a good driving record, good verbal and written communication skills and the physical ability to perform the essential functions of law enforcement including the ability to use all standard equipment techniques and the use of force options. Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification preferred.
