For those of you who always wanted the chance to be a Chief of Police, the village of Columbus, New Mexico has a vacancy.

Columbus is across the border from Palomas, Mexico, whose Chief of Police recently requested political asylum in the US after a number of narcotics related murders in his town.

The links to the below news stories say that whoever gets hired in Columbus will be the 5th chief since the new mayor was elected to office in 2006 (however, I believe the true count is 7).

The requirements are fairly minimal plus, you only have to be 18 years old. Best of luck to all your aspiring chief candidates.
